We are delighted to congratulate our very own Fiona Ho on being named in the prestigious Australian Design Review (ADR) 30under30 program for 2024. This recognition is a true reflection of Fiona’s commitment to design excellence, her passion for the built environment, and her determination to shape spaces that inspire, connect, and endure.
The ADR 30under30 initiative shines a spotlight on Australia’s most promising emerging architects and designers, celebrating individuals who are making significant contributions to the industry before the age of 30. To be recognised amongst such a talented and diverse group of peers is a remarkable achievement, and Fiona’s inclusion highlights her as a leader of the next generation of design thinkers and creators.
Fiona’s journey in design has always been driven by more than just aesthetics. With a deep belief in the power of design to shape human experience, she approaches every project with a blend of creativity, technical rigour, and cultural sensitivity. Her work reflects a constant pursuit of excellence – not only in the built form itself but also in how spaces engage communities and tell meaningful stories.
Her portfolio includes some of Sydney’s most exciting and culturally significant projects. Notable works include Burwood Chinatown, Neon Playground, and the Lunar New Year celebrations in Haymarket, among many others. These projects embody her ability to merge community, culture, and creativity into experiences that are both visually compelling and socially impactful. From retail precincts that bring people together to public installations that celebrate identity and tradition, Fiona’s designs always carry a strong sense of purpose.
Beyond her project work, Fiona is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of designers, particularly young women entering the fields of architecture and interior design. She believes strongly in creating pathways for women to thrive in an industry that has often been male-dominated, and she actively shares her knowledge, experience, and encouragement to help young designers build confidence and find their voice. Her dedication to mentorship reflects the values of leadership and collaboration that are essential to the future of the profession.
Being named in ADR’s 30under30 is not only an acknowledgment of Fiona’s personal achievements, but also a recognition of the positive influence she is having on the built world and the people who will shape its future.
Congratulations once again to Fiona Ho on this well-deserved recognition. Your journey is an inspiration, and we look forward to seeing the innovative, inclusive, and meaningful contributions you will continue to make to the design community in the years ahead.
