Completed 2017 | Hurstville Westfield
Marking the first of many refreshes Urban Equipment will undertake, the Hurstville Concept Store brings about a renewed life to a long established brand with a large loyal following of regular customers. Staying true to the brand’s origins in streetwear and industrial aesthetic, the design takes precedence from the streets, industrial plant equipment and from the very fashion style it is retailing to create a bricolage of the culture it represents.
An out-worldly shopping experience is attributed to a portal of red laser beams upon entry, a reference to the brand’s previous feature elements of entry portals and curved ceiling features. Modular signage systems throughout allow the business behind Urban Equipment to curate the brands for the ever-changing fast paced world of fashion retail, an important factor given an increasing competition with online retailers and introduction of international retailers to the Australian market.
Universal beams line the walls to categorise a chaotic variety of brands and mass of inventory organised by brand names and colour coded for target audience, simulating a futuristic industrial museum of the next fashion.
